Origin:
Beef to feed the Roman legions traveled 'on the hoof' and the soldiers used
mastiff-type dogs to drive and guard the cattle on the journey across
Europe. |
|
Description:
The Pug
has a square, stubby and compact body..."a big dog in a small
package". It has deep wrinkles on its forehead and a soft, open,
distinctive expression. This affectionate dog breed makes an
excellent family pet. |

Temperament:
The Rottie is a fearless dog that maintains an air of self-assurance. He is
basically calm and confident. He possesses an inherent desire to protect
home and family. |
Temperament:
Playful and
happy, dignified and funny, Pugs do well with visitors, children
and other pets. Although sometimes stubborn, the Pug is more
typically pleasant and anxious to please. A show-off. |

|
Activity level:
Willingness to work is bred into the Rottweiler. The well-bred Rottie is
a devoted family dog. Due to his size, he does best in a suburban or
country atmosphere where he can get lots of safe, outdoor exercise. Early
obedience training is a good idea. |
Living
Environment:
Pugs are a less
active breed and require minimal exercise to stay happy. An
excellent apartment dog, a walk each day will provide ample
exercise for this lovable breed. |
